Lea Village Boys Secondary Modern School

Hi was in David's year but he was in the A stream I was in the B stream. I remember starting in the juniors at age 10 moving to the seniors at age 11. I don't remember which was which between his twin brother but we mixed with the Glebe school and they were part of. There was a younger brother, Mr Garlic was our form tutor throughout, Scottish and a very nice man. I remember being hit on the back of my hand with a ruler by a teacher in English class for not covering my school book with wallpaper, it seemed unreal at the time. David and Derick seemed opposites and well known there was a bigger boy with them. He was the better fighter and as I recall in one of many fights in the park there friendship took a turn and both brothers fought him and lost. Mr Garlic came to class drunk one day and never returned, he was to nice for that school, led with his heart and not appreciated till too late.
