Isnt it funny that lots of people used to eat food cooked with lard and suet and lived to a ripe old age and yet we are told now to cook everything in olive oil. Everything in moderation i suppose and i dont like lard myself but i love a bit of pork dripping on toast and im not too posh to admit it like some of my mates who think its vile but they secretly wolf down scratchings lol. :D

When I use to visit my Nan, as a child, we always had lard toast with loads of salt on it, before we went to bed. And that brings another memory back, PORRIDGE with salt or treacle on!!!!!!!!!!(never both!)

When I was pregnant way back when, I had a craving for porridge with treacle, but once my son was born I went , right off it and don't think I ever eaten porridge since.

I would still eat Lardy peices if tasted the same, but it doesnt!! My stomach unlike Les is composed almost entirely of Lard, about 95% the remaining 5% is normal Fat............... I eat porridge now but never did as a child, ive not tried it with treacle though, maybe in the morning? O0
