Nor me Lyn not in my time The Dartmouth Arms ,The Raven ,The Green Man And one more which i keep forgetting i think on the corner of Chester St (will someone refresh this fading brain)these are all on the same side of the road were there any on the other that got demolished before my time. Dek
There isn't a junction listed in kellys in Darmouth St. in 1967, 1890, 1908, 1921,1940 or 1950, though , of course it could be not named in Kellys

Well, i know why I couldn't find it. It was The Grand junction Inn (presumably named after the grand junction railway). shown below in 1889 at 225 Dartmouth St on the corner of Chester St. It seems to have disappeared between 1915 and 1921

ok mike ive found it in the 1956 kellys.....it was called the grand junction inn and was on the corner of the south east side of chester st....landlord at that time was howard cattell...now all we need is a pic of it for lynne...
You are right Lyn. It fooled me. The grand Junction is listed in Dartmouth St up to 1915, but in Chester St from 1921 till 1967, after which it disappears. Surprised noone seems to remember it

I'm afraid I haven't got a photo, so I am unable to help you. To be honest I drank in The Raven and The Green man at the tender age of sixteen and I must have passed this pub every working day for at least six months on the way to work on Newtown Row. Even then it never registered with me, I will keep my eye open for a photo.
