Hi Pam, stuck indoors till tomorrow. Belated Happy New year. Any access to Edward and Hannah Wainwright please. Edward born ABT 1813, Hannah ABT 1822. Both on censuses born in Atherstone. Matilda fits in you found her marriage. Don't know if Mark or Lynn can pick this up. It was minus 35 in Minnesota and minus 17 now. We were there in 2000, November. They carry on as normal. Carnt believe we cannot fly no more. How things change.
Thanks for your help. Keith.

Edward Wainwright was born 1813ish, I think Dordon rather than Atherstone. Hannah Davis was born 1821ish in Wilnecote, They married 22 Jul 1839 Handsworth. Edward's father was Charles and Hannah's parents were William Davis and possibly Ann Martin (married Tamworth 16 Oct 1820).

Pam, both born in Atherstone. Matilda, daughter. Thanks

Hi, Edward and H (Hannah Wainwright are correct ages on 1841 census. So she was married 18/19 ish if correct. Maybe Irish, with Irish family living same address. Doesn't give me Atherstone for either on 1841 census.

Probably no relation but our neighbours in the 1930/40s at No 80 Hurlingham Road, were Johnsons Mr Johnson used to repair bicycles in his shed and collapsed and died in there one evening, his widow stayed on for many years after, they had a son Peter who served in the Royal navy.

The 1841 census has to be treated with caution. There is not enough information to infer relationships between people in the same household in some cases. Birthplaces for people born in England were only listed as born in the county they were living in or not, so the 1841 would not show a birthplace as Atherstone.

Houses could contain two or more completely separate families which it would be appear to be in this case. Unless there is corroboration.

Thanks Mark, puzzling as usual. Their ages are consistent on 51/61 censuses. Sarah age 0 on 41 census. 10 on 51 census, no proof of birth on bdm. Cannot find Edwards and Hannah's marriage Atherstone or brum....

Is this the one. Did Handsworth come under West Brom then?. So Hannah Davis would you believe. Thank you, Keith.
