Lets give it a go.

Sorry I am going to have to ask one of you guys how to transfer it from UTube

Oh Di He was the first person I saw live, I think I was about 16 years old.
I was mad about him.

Hi Di. I grew up listening to Mom playing Johnny Ray (and lot's of 50's and 60's records!) and he is one of my favourites too! "The Little White Cloud That Cried" and "Just Walking In The Rain" are just great tunes! :)

Another oldie I found on You Tube the other night was "To Know Him Is To Love Him" by The Teddy Bears. I still have the original 45 somewhere, but after about 50 years, its a little too scratched now to hear properly. There was some great records back in them days. Thanks for getting me going again Di. Barry.

Thanks for putting the video's on BB. He was great wasn't he. I actually saw him at the Hip, it must have been 1955/56. Someone told me that you could get in to his show if you got there early and queued. I went straight from work and we stood at the back of the circle. I would have stood on my head if they'd asked. :)

Smithy I've just been back to UTube and listened to 'If You Believe' that there's a heaven then there's a heaven if you believe. Oooooooooooh

Thanks Di - it took me back too - my first boyfriend took me to see Johnny Ray - I was about 14. I couldn't remember where the concert was held. I had the programme for years after. He was my favourite until Elvis came along.
Lovely stuff.

Youtube is simply amazing. I have a musical mind in many ways and play
music on my computer whenever I am working or writing, etc. Many times over the years I have had a tune run through my head and mostly I know the titles but didn't have the music. When Youtube came along I very rarely have those bothering thoughts about a song because I go on Youtube and type in the title and nine out of ten times someone has posted it on there.

I was thinking about a series on British TV years ago called "Flambards" and the tune "Christina" kept coming into my mind. Found it on Youtube and it's a
cheerful reminder of that programme series. Also the music from the series "Black Beauty". I have a list of music I made up some time ago that they used to play at the Locarno circa 1962/63...over one hundred songs. Most of them are on Youtube. Can't beat that for nostalgia.

If it was 1956 I too would have been about 14yrs old, never dreaming what was to come in the future. Two years later couldn't stop playing "to know him is to love him".
Oh why did I do it, I am still married to him after 49 years.
what a long time
