I have just been reading through a lovely new book by Ted Rudge and John Houghton, In and Around Aston through time. On page number 60 there is an old photo of number 27 Newtown Row where it says M Akers shop was in the 1900's. My great grandfather John Jennings had a bakers shop at Number 29 he was there in 1851 and was still there in 1863 as this was recorded on the death certificate of his first child who died of diptheria. I wonder if anyone could possibly pinpoint which side of M Akers his shop would have been number 29. I am so thrilled to find this photo.
