Born in India 1896. Educated at John Hopkins Hospital Maryland till ABT 1922. Qualified as doctor, emigrated to UK 1923. Did 1 year training to become a Dr/surgeon. Had surgery accomodation in Cherry wood Rd, think Alum Rock. 1925 to 1929. Apparently had other surgeries. Address Underhill Rd, Alum Rock. 1929 to 1958, probably drs surgery. Married Florence Rose Maddocks 1923 Kings Norton Any info would be appreciated.
Trying to get back to birth etc in India. Born 1896 states Begal, maybe Bengal. It's a long shot but a few clever helpful folk on here. His wife was my mother's side. Thank you.

There appears to be a US WWI draft record for him, dob matches the one given at his death. Birthplace is listed as Maruchgongus.

He is listed as student in Baltimore and as a Hindu.
 
In 1932 Underhill Road is marked as his residence (res). The other addresses mark his full qualifications, but the Underhill one does not, merely says MD. . This would indicate that there was no surgery there,

Hi Mark, hope you're surviving the heat. Yes got most of info in Baltimore, Maryland.
Have you an attachment for US draft please. Thanks for your help once again. Weirdly wasn't a British Citizen until 1961. Was obviously a British subject in India. Father unknown, hard to find where Maruchongus is.

There is also a Jogendra Chandra Bose b1895 who was a student in Waco, Texas in 1918 and travels to UK in 1926.Don't know what happens to him after that.
 
Jogesh, Departed New York arrived Southampton 3 Nov 1922 on the ship Majestic (56,551 tons) of the White Star Dominion Line.

It was reported that later on the 15 November the Majestic, the world’s largest ship, had left New York for Boston where she is to be fitted with new 16 ton screws. The Gladstone Dock at Liverpool was unavailable when the majestic was last there.

Headed for Brum. Qualified Dr/surgeon in Baltimore. Had to do one more years training here. Thank you.
 
A few other things.

Amaresh Chandra Bose's birthplace is listed as Darbhanga, Bihar. Don't know if that makes it unlikely that he is related to Jogesh.

Jogendra Chandra Bose's birthplace is listed as Calcutta, Bengal. Could be a simple generalisation for something obscure.

There is Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose who was born 1858 in Munshiganj. and there is a park in Kolkata named after him.

Very similar names Mark. The Sir is the most famous one. I doubt Amaresh also. Thanks again.
