Joan Armatrading's symphony to Birmingham

Joan Armatrading is soon releasing a new symphony to Birmingham called 'Homeland'. The 15 minute score will be performed by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on 7 December.

"Homeland is a piece that highlights the city of Birmingham and its people, reflecting their strong sense of community, resilience and warmth," said the artist, who is known for her unique blend of jazz, reggae, folk and rock".

Went to see someone at Birmingham Town Hall didn't usually bother with the support act and turned up
during the interval.

Overheard so many people raving about the first half, yes that was Joan Armatrading,
always regretted missing her set and vowed from then on to always turn up for the support.
