Hello Cherie.
George edmund & mary anne { known as Polly } had a drapers shop in Newtown Row for many years until they were bombed out. { mine & your Dad's Nan & Grandad. Grandad used to go to the warehouse to buy materials and Nan made the garments which they sold in the shop. They were well known in the area for girls dresses and boys clothes for confirmation services at St. Chad's Cathedral. I think there was a newsagents next door their name was Hudsons also a butchers shop. It was almost at the corner of another road which I think was called New John street. After they were bombed out they opened a lock-up shop in Witton lane. They lived with one of their daughters at Kenilworth rd. { Witton ? ? ? ? } The Daughter was Nell { Ellen ?? } She was married to Frank Brookes . they did not have any children.
Betty.
