Hi Lynn
Many thanks for that valued information on the closing of the pub
Is it possible you could tell me how long since it closed
I am sorry to hear it as closed but there as been alot of behind the scenes going on
For some time now within the group
Best wishes Alan,,,Astonian,,,,

think its been closed for about 6 weeks or so alan..its a shame really as we have had some very good forum meet ups there...hopefully it will re open one day

lyn

What a shame, enjoyed our Forum meetings there, also painted it 2 or 3 times, I do hope it will reopen soon. Eric

I noticed last time we met there, that even though they knew we were coming they were about an hour late opening and even then the bar remained closed.

yes thats right phil...let just hope it is just a face lift ..cant afford to lose anymore old pubs and this one is probably the oldest in the area..

great news..thanks for letting us know:) would you happen to know if its under new management

lyn

Yes it says on there Face Book page that it is under new management, with a Landlady, which looks like a no nonsense approach.

and one more important thing to pub land lords and land ladies old smithy
that make them smile is put plenty of coppers over the bar and you will be really welcomed back
speaking from an old experience land lord best wishes to you all,, Astonian,,,,,

Good new people, the Jewellers Arms reopens very soon after a serious revamp under the ownership of Black Country Ales. Beautiful piece of sign writing outside too!

thanks for the update brian...i knew black country ales had taken it on so the best of luck to them...must pop in as soon as i know for certain when the doors are open again

lyn

Great make over by Black Country Brewery. Two rooms knocked into one creating an L shaped bar. Great real ales.

thanks for the photos froth and thanks to black country ales for saving this jewel of pub

img005.jpg I have 2 pics of the refurbished Jewellers Arms which I intend to use for a watercolour but one (post x20 above) shows a creamy background, the other which I obtained from a Google image (attached) appears to be white, which is correct. It is important to be correct as I intend to donate it to our meet at the said Pub. Thank. Eric

eric frothy took this one the other day...looks grey and white to me but i am sure we can get some other shots before the meet up...hope this one helps but dont forget all of what you see in this shot is the jewellers and so the right hand building is brickwork...just depends on how much of it you wish to paint...all the best

SO its White then ? Have attached completed drawing and front of Pub is in full sun so will leave it white (apart from shadow areas). The Sun does play tricks with colour. Will make a start with colour work tomorrow. Thanks. EricDSC04153.JPG
