Re: Billy Jelf

Hi Astonian

Here are his birth details --

William Jelf 3rd qtr 1900 Aston 6d 336

This could be his marriage --

William Jelf/Elsie M Goldbey 3rd qtr 1923 Aston 6d 1138

Would be interesting to find out who registered his death, you would need to get the certificate for that. I will have a browse through the births for his children.

Re: Billy Jelf

Hi Astonian

Children of William and Elsie, i have put mothers maiden name as it is in the register --

William mmn Goldby 3rd qtr 1924 Aston 6d 642

Dennis mmn Goldley 3rd qtr 1927 Birmingham N 6d 842

Re: Billy Jelf

Hi There Bren
For What Reason Do You Think They Put The
Kids Names In The Mothers Name ,for
I Can Only Presume They Was Not Married ,is There Any Way I Can Find Out What The Mothers Surname Was ,and I Can Only Presume She Was Married Before She Met Bill
And Raymond Ghanged His Name To His Fathers Name And Moved To Oxford ,is There Any Way I Can Find Out What Her Maiden Name Was
And Whom Are The Grand Parents Was
Many Thanks For This Valuable Info, For Me
And Anther Question Whom Was John Jelf ,
Many Thanks Astonian ,;;

Re: Billy Jelf

Hi Astonian

William (Billy) Jelf did marry Elsie M Goldbey, 1923 Aston, i have given you the details you need for obtaining the certificate.

The kids ARE registered as Jelf, in the more modern records they also add the mothers maiden name as a further cross reference.

John Jelf was, according to the census barrie posted for you, Williams older brother and that would make him another brother of your grandfather, that would make Mary Ann Jelfs, widow ,39yrs, your Greatgrandmother.
