Jarvis Family of Smethwick.

Yvonne Lay

proper brummie kid
Hello Everyone.

I am new to this list, I am researching my Jarvis Family who lived in Poplar Street, Smethwick early in the 1890's through to the 1940's.
Bernard Miall Jarvis, Maria his wife, children, Bernard John, Alfred, Hilda, Annie, Hannah Leah, Bertha, (my grandmother) and Lavinia.

Would there be anyone who would be any decendants of the above please? I would love to be in contact and be able to find out more on our family. I have the Jarvis line traced back to the 1600's, but would like to find out more on my great grandparents and the family.

Happy New Year to all.

Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne,
My GG Grandmother was Hannah Jarvis Parkes. She was born about 1803 in Tamworth & in 1832 married John Carter at St Martins. John was a city councillor for the Ladywood Ward for 27 years & also owned a canal boat building business at Ladywood. Hannah died at her home in Edgbaston in 1869. I think it likely that the 'Jarvis' in her name is a related family name & wondered if you have any mention of her in your Jarvis family records? I would really love to find a burial record for her but so far have had no luck.

Hello Sheryl,

Sorry I haven't anyone by that name in my line. I do have some Jarvis' in the Atherstone area not far from Tamworth, but not until much later.

Regards,

Yvonne
