Hello,

I am searching for James Hall, gun maker of Birmingham, who appears to be listed on the baptisms of four children, where two of them where baptized 11 days apart in 1830.

In the first instance,

Joseph Hall born 25 of Jan 1828(?)
was baptized at St Martins in Birmingham 11 of Nov 1830.

Alongside

Elizabeth Hall born 1st Oct 1830
baptized at St Martins Birmingham 11 Nov 1830.

James Hall and Elizabeth Hall are the parents. James' occupation is gun maker, living at Steel House lane.

The next two children were:

James Hall born 3rd Jan 1817 baptized at St Martins in Birmingham 22 of Nov 1830

And

Hubert Hall born 1st Oct 1826 baptized at St Martins in Birmingham 22 of Nov 1830

Since this is just 11 days later, with the same parents names James Hall and Elizabeth Hall, living at Steel House lane, the only difference is what appears to be an updated occupation for James from gun maker to "Victualler".

Could this be the same family? I have been unsuccessful in an exhaustive search for any further records of James Hall gun maker or victualler around 1830, or in the 1841 census.

If anyone would be able to help it would be greatly appreciated!
 
Another two possible children of James Hall and Elizabeth Hall are

Samuel Hall born 19 Oct 1821
baptized at St Martins in Birmingham 8 of April 1822

Sophia Hall born 2 Mar 1825
baptized at St Martins in Birmingham 11 of April 1825

James' occupation is gun maker and their address is Weaman Street.
 
And one more:

James Hall born 22 Mar 1827 baptised at St Martin Birmingham 16th of April 1827

Parents are James Hall and Elizabeth Hall and father James' occupation is gun maker address is Weaman street.
 
Not sure this helps but those names appear with Elizabey=th Hall but no sign of James snr on 1841 census. There is no relationship info on 1841 so it often doesn't help research.

Also seems little odd if 2 James baptised are both their offspring with same name! Know this was sometimes done if a child passed away to carry the name on but this doesn't seem to be case here because older one still around in 1830!
 
In 1830 there is a James Hall at the Turk's Head Steelhouse Lane
The article is about people leaving property in lieu of a debt and retrieving it on payment of the debt.

I think they might be a different James and Elizabeth. Child named after Father in each case
