The factory, at the junction of Woodfield and Ombersley Roads was known as 'The Mozart Works'. The business started in 1855 in central Birmingham, but by 1889 it expanded into the building shown below, being on cheaper building land in Woodfield Road
This substantial, three-storey factory suffered sparks from the nearby railway resulting in fires in 1913 and 1923, the latter destroying both the roof and the business. But it has survived and the building still exists today.
