Is this the same couple?

Ewan

master brummie
On the IGI there are 6 children baptised of a Thomas and Ann Cox, they are submitted entries.

Thomas 1777
Elizabeth 1775
Frances Blakemore 1774
Sampson Blakemore 1776
Michael 1779
Phebe 1780

There are also 5 children baptised of a Thomas and Ann Cox, they are extracted records.

James Thomas 1789
John 1783
Rosanne 1785
Samuel 1791
Phebe 1787

What further information could be found on the actual record, if at all, and also how could I find out if the children are from the same couple?

Many thanks
Ewan

Well, I might be wrong here, but at that time, I think it is impossible to PROVE anything, due to scant information being in the records. Until 1813, the records were just written in a book, on plain pages. From 1813, there was a printed form, and from then on, the father's occupation is noted. From 1837 there is slightly more information again. Just supposing these children are all from the same couple, Phebe in 1787 would more than likely have died, hence the 1780 baptism of a child of that name. Burial records from the church(es) might reveal more. Guesswork and by a process of elimination is probably all you have got at that date.

There are three marriages
Gender: Male Marriage: 04 JUN 1758 St Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England
2. THOMAS COX - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Marriage: 30 JUL 1769 Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England
3. THOMAS COX - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Marriage: 16 MAY 1779 St Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England
6. THOMAS COX - International Genealogical Index

I think the later baptisms at St Martins are the output of 16 may 1779 marriage

Thank you Shortie, you are quite correct there is less information to be found on these records prior to 1813, so it is going to be a difficult task to establish whether the children are of the same couple.

In the first group there are 2 children with the middle name of Blakemore I have been trying to work around that name to see if there is a clue to be found. On the IGI there are some baptisms of children belonging to a Thomas Blakemore Cox and Ann c 1800 to 1817. Can anyone see a marriage for this couple?

Thanks Mike for your comments as well that was my first thought that the later baptisms were from that marriage, I was trying to find a marriage perhaps of a couple with the children from the first group but there are so many Thomas and Ann Coxes!!
