The photo at the following address , a site i have Richie to thank for bringing it to my attention, gives little information as to position but is search-tagged ( if that's the right phrase) , amongst other things, Birmingham. no reason is given for this and one of the other tags , Hardman Bros and Rimmer , i cannot find in Kellys for the early 1900s. I therefore have doubts
as to whether it is birmingham, and would welcome other's opinions

Hi Mike, the only other thing I can add to your observations is the address over the doorway 3 QUEENS CHAMBERS, I would doubt it being Birmingham, but you never know.
Regards John.

Good morning, John and Mike,
There's a Hardman's Estate Agents in Liverpool. Their address is :
96 County Road
Liverpool
L4 3QN
Could this possibly be the same firm? David

At first glance it looked like the corner of Gravelly Lane and Station Rd, Erdington....

I noticed A Kennedy Accountants also.

Maybe the horse and cart came from Birmingham for a special delivery to Liverpool.....that load looks like fruit....

Was that Rimmer Street in the keywords....... also footwear

Hi,

I think it could be an early photo of Paradise Street in the city centre. Queens Chambers are (or were) in Paraduse Street almost opposite the town hall and it looks just like I remember it.

Old Boy.

The main building was called queens college chambers, but it definitely wasn't the building in that photograph

Hello Mike, yes I agree, I also noticed an optician on the corner to the right and if you look above the boots roof, you can see a chapel like building.

I have looked on Google for Hardman Bros and Rimmer , but the only hit is on my original query. the little spiders do work quickly on the web , don't they !

After spending much of the afternoon searching, I think (just think, no proof!) that it is Oldham, possibly Chamber Road. There was a Boots chemist there, there was a James Hardman, estate agent, in the town and there is a Hardman firm just off Chamber Road now (making cardboard boxes though!). Naming office buildings after 'chambers' seems fitting.
Anyone know Oldham enough to help??

I believe Boots originated in Nottingham would they been country wide that early in the century. just a thought . Dek
