Iommi family

I would think so but you would need to check. As I don't think we know when they arrived it could be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
You can register at the archives for free but they hold such a large catalogue they may not have a definitive answer.
 
Ok well I’ll register for now and go from there. Also the lady from st chads has just said the best bet to is order the marriage certificate. So I’ll do that tonight aswell. :) she said afew people she’s dealt with have got records directly from the registry office in Italy so maybe I do that too.
 
Hi all... So I purchased Angelina and Felice marriage certificate, it should be arriving any day :)
also I searched the national archives, I looked at all files rather then individual, there are only 4 searches that come up for iommi. So it may be safe to say that there are no records of immigration or citizenship (apart from Nicola one someone found)
 
Hopefully Felice's father's name will be Giovanni.

As Janice said not all the alien arrival records are online, so there still may be something but again it may be a case of having to wait.

ill let you know what it is, the historian I spoke to said the name was Giuseppe, but ill find out soon :))

Ive found records on there before the 1900s so I feel like it may just be that it wasn't documented :)

Wanted to share info from the marriage certificate
Felice -father is Giuseppe he was a straw hat maker.
Angelina’s father - dominico quadrini was a brick layer.
Both deceased by 1900.

Felice & Angelina got married at the registry office 1900.

But were previously married in 1869 in arce italy, it does name the church too.
If anyone can read who it was in the presence of? And the name of the previous church so I can search :)

Just to add (as we know) felice and Angelina are burried at st Joseph’s. I do know the area but not the position as they were not on the original plot map found. But they’re right by Giuseppe & Maria as they were on the map and they’re in the same location.
Waiting for the weather to get better so we can strim all that area so I can say right ok they’re definitely no head stones here for them, as someone mentioned sometimes when headstones would fall they would prop them up against the back wall, well that back wall is fall of branches, bushes.
So that’s where we are at.

The first word is Chiesa which is just Italian for church.
The next word looks like margiore but probably refers to St Maria Maggiore - St Mary the Great. Seems to be a common church name throughout Italy.

If they were married in 1869 seems probable that there may have been other children than the ones we know. Though the may have died young.

May have found a possible birth record for Felice, though with the name variations can't be sure. And it's just a transcript with no scan unfortunately to check...

Listed as Felice Gummi born 28 Apr 1847 Arce, Frosinone son of Giuseppo Gummi and Domenica Irpicci. As you can see a few little inconsistencies but I think it's a maybe.

on the 1911 census it says that in total they had 8 children and 6 were living, I think I have 5 of them. :)

Ah that's so interesting, did you find that on ancestry? ill list the mothers name down and see if any hints become available. When I put down Angelina's fathers name I did get one hint, and it seems probable BUT the spelling again is off, if you still have access to my ancestry please have look at the hint for Dominico Quadrini and see what you think.
 
It was on familysearch. The reason I said I was hoping that Felice's father was Giovanni because the birth record for Gaetano Iommi (listed as Tommi) gives his father as Giovanni.

However, on the record his mother is listed as Domenico Irpilio. It seems unlikely that there were both a Giuseppe and a Giovanni Iommi who married two Domenica Irpillo around the same time. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same person unless she married the brother of her husband after he had died.

Either way it does appear to suggest that the Felice Gummi birth could be the right person.

I do still have access but I can't see any hint.

I think im going to find the nearest registry office and order Felice and Angelina birth certificates, then that should clear up the names, because im curious now from what you said above.

There are a couple of possible births for brothers of Angelina with a marriage for one of them who subsequently emigrates to the US. His immigration records then mentions 3 nephews.

The other possibly emigrates as well.

Also I am looking for an Amanda Y Liveley who married a Brian Duckworth. Amandas mom was a Hilda iommi and her father was Giovanni. But Id like to locate or see if Amanda is still alive and if she's in brum.
 
No death reg. for her up to 2023. Last mention of her in Bham.

Only 2 brothers - Giralamo Domenico b1851 & Pietro b1855. Nephews - Domenico, Angelo & possibly Giralamo (it's not clear) - not sure of their father (not Pietro).

An off-topic question for Jance, I think I know the answer: my wife's parents were Italian, Palmerozzi & Occhetti, do you think is an easier search from where you are than in the US? I am not asking you to do anything other than your judgement. Thank you!

I would have thought you should be able to search on Family Search from the US
