Blackbird numbers have increased by about 16 per cent in the last ten years and there are currently about four million breeding pairs in the country.

i think most of them are in my garden singing away happily the Dawn corus is lovely here:D

This is a self seed but I have left it and been rewarded with a lovely splash of colour and a visitor this morning. Bzzz. Went from flower to flower before flying off.

We have had a group of foxgloves on waste land to the rear of our house. I have not seen them there before in the 7 years we have been here. Maybe they prefer the wetter weather we have had Janice. Tinpot

we had lovely wild flowers floxgloves etc along the grass verge alongside my garden and the council contactor mowed them down friday WHY wait till spring when all is in bloom grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i just mowed the long grass and come across a squirrel it just played dead and i had to mow around it:grinning:

The Survival tactics of Squirrels

Squirrels, known for their agile features, have some intriguing survival techniques up their sleeves. One such behavior is their remarkable ability to play dead when faced with a threat. Although it may seem like a peculiar act, it serves as a defense mechanism against potential killers. By faking to be lifeless, squirrels hope to prove to their assailants that they are no longer a viable meal.

Love fox gloves: here's a pic of some in our garden, and I took this pic of a regular visitor earlier this year, foxy steals the pears I leave out for the blackbirds.

Hi everyone, great pics and stories of your gardens etc. Lovely to look through.

I'm really pleased with my garden, I've got to move some pots this weekend, hopefully the weather will be nice.

My perennials in pots I rotate as they come in and out of flower, I don't move them far away from their regular spots, if they are happy, I leave them where they are.

Hopefully we will have some nice weather this weekend.

& that is the most important thing, that you are pleased with your garden!

A lot of chatter on internet that we shouldn't allow buddleia in our gardens as it is as bad as Japanese Knot Weed for being invasive and a risk to buildings, never had any problems. Any comments?
