WITH HUMBLE HEART I BOW MY HOARY HEAD,
AND GIVE THANKS TO YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS; READ
                    BY ONE SUCH AS I.

MY LABOURED EFFORTS OFT KEPT IN CLOSED FOLDER,
NEVER TO BE OPENED BY THOSE FAR LESS OLDER
                   THAN ONE SUCH AS I.

NOW A NEW LIGHT SHINES IN THESE BRIGHTER OLD EYES,
OLD POEMS ARE RESURRECTED, AND VIEWED BY YOU, THE WISE
                    FOR ONE SUCH AS I.

MY DEAR, DEAR FRIENDS, A NEW PURPOSE IN LIFE HAS BEGONE
FOR ONE WHO'S MEAGER TALENT, WAS RENDERED, ALL BUT DONE
BY AN OLD FOOL SUCH AS I.

AND IT IS WITH GRATITUDE IN MY HEART AND LOVE FOR YOU ALL,
THAT I CAN NOW WALK PROUD, AND IN FUTURE WILL STAND TALL
                  FOR I AM "I"

Your poetry has a way with it that demands it being read. As I think already expressed by others, we have many wordsmiths here. Birmingham folk are still able to manufacture goods to the very highest quality, our City of a Thousand Trades has done us proud with you, and those around you Robert.

I too am glad you have resurrected the poems...........and it is US that owe the grattitude
