I know what I would do with this BCT tram line https://my.bus.photos.fotopic.net/p66567501.html If I had the money or the iclination I would buy this former BCT Tram line cut it up into 1/4 inch lenghts and then sell them as paper weights the tram line is outside the former Tram, Trolley, Bus, Garage (Arthur St) Coventry Road
The section seen was only a cross member to the tram line and as far as I know the tram never ran over it
Bammot - what a good idea! When I was a student in North-Northumberland I once walked the 'Border Ridge' between England and Scotland, in the Cheviot Hills, and discovered that the old mild-steel, border wire-fence (it had been replaced several years before) was lying flat, semi-buried in the heather and moss. I later returned (several times!) with wire-cutters and spent hours cutting the wire into sections, which I then took back to college and further cut the wire into 3-inch lengths ... and sold them in a wee bag, together with a printed explanation as: ''A bit of the Border between England and Scotland'' at Alnwick Market, during 'Alnwick-Fair Week' ... I sold them in various fairs and car-boot sales in Scotland too. It went a long way to pay for my beer!
