I have George and Agnes Mary Hyde at 211 Knowle Road, Sparkhill in 1911. Can anyone let me know their whereabouts in later electoral rolls please.

Re: Electoral roll search please

They are at 211 Knowle Road till 1939, but then disappear. No 211 is not listed in 1945 or 1950, but then reappears, with anothe roccupant in 1955

There are deaths for Agnes M Hyde age 66 Birmingham 6d 804 in December 1940 and George A Hyde age 64 Birmingham 6d 530 in December 1943 these could be yours as ages fit (ish) to ages on 1911 census.

Hi Bramble

George’s birth was registered in September quarter 1879 Northleach, Glos. I have checked the deaths in and around Birmingham for George Hyde with no middle name initial and there are only 2 that might be him in the area, of course he could have died elsewhere, but there are so many George Hydes that it would be difficult to pin him down without the approx year or place of death. Here are the 2 which I found

George Hyde age 74 Birmingham 9c 482 June 1949
George Hyde age 80 Birmingham 9c 45 March 1955.

Interestingly whilst looking for George on the Birmingham Air Raid Remembrance Association site, https://www.birminghamairraids.co.uk/ (BARRA was created to establish a memorial to the civilians of Birmingham who were killed in the years of bombing raids endured in World War II) just to see if he happened to be listed there, I came across Agnes Mary Hyde age 67 entry 1004, so sadly it appears that Agnes Mary Hyde succumbed to the air raids over Birmingham.

I am very grateful for your input. I do not know for sure if 211 Knowle Road was hit during the bombing raids December 1940, but looking at Google Street maps there is a definite change in the style of building for 211 etc, these buildings look 1950'ish, whilst the others either side look older. As for George's death, I will need to look further, but thanks again. I note from the 1911 census that they had a son Herbert Harold Hyde.
Finally, I do have one other request, if you can help. George had a brother William born 1882 Northleach, also living in Birmingham. He was a lodger in 1901 at 73 St Andrews Road, living with the Thornton's from Northleach and in 1911 he was living with the George Edward and Pheobe Melina Thornton at 55 Gordon street, Small Heath. A 1919 WW1 record has him living at 8? Gladestone Road (although I suspect this to be Gladstone Road). Any help would be appreciated.
