Here are a couple of pictures form 'A Paddle in Hockley Brook' by Ron Smith, bublished by Weldon Press Ltd. In the picture you can just se a bit of George Baines on the right.

My ancestors 'John Bailey Harrison' and his wife Sarah Matilda Harrison (nee Kember) ran the Queens Arms pub (might have been Queens Head). They are recorded there in the 1891 census.

They went on to run the 'Dukes Inn' on Duke Street, Sutton Coldfield.

hi c.kember it was the queens head pub corner of farm st and hunters vale..my nan and grandad and gt nan used it often...the queens head is still open today...

Thats Brilliant. I thoght it might be long gone.

I've managed to get a photograph of the Dukes Inn on Dukes Street, Sutton Coldfield. However i cant find one of The Queens Head pub, Only on gogle maps (street view)

chris im afraid you have got lumbered with a few pics of other pubs in the area as these come all on one sheet and i cant seperate them... i think i may have another shot of the pub but will have to search my files...
