Trying to find record of the birth of Henry Howell between 1799 and 1801 in Birmingham, most likely in St Martin's. Can anyone assist? Parents names are unknown.

Hi

There is a birth on pilot.familysearch.org/ which has a Henry Howell christened 26 Dec 1803 at St Martin's, parents John Howell and Sarah. Some kind person with St Martin's records will perhaps give you any more details:)
There is also a possible marriage for Henry's parents, John Howell to Sarah Wallace 10 Nov 1801 at St Martin's and what could be some more christenings for the children of John and Sarah.

going on suzannes info ive looked at the christening of henry howell but there are no other details at all

the marriage extra details are - both "of this parish" . bachelor and spinster. witnesses were william and alice pountney.

if this baptism is the correct couple it has a bit more info - ann daughter of john and sarah howell baptised on 4th sep 1815. abode greens village. occ. tailor

will see if there are any more

there are these christenings at st. martins with parents john and sarah howell

2 children christened 26th dec 1808 edwin and maria howell

2 children christened 5th oct 1810 john and frederick howell

only extra is that john howell was born 23 sep 1807

Thanks everyone. Does anyone have St Martin's records where it should show marriage of Henry Howell to Mary Parker on 17 June 1816? It would be helpful if that gave a parent's name for Henry so I could determine if the family we're talking about above is the right one. I have another source that says he was born in Worcestershire. His occupation was a shoemaker.

sorry, the marriage doesnt seem to have been at st. martins. at this time fathers were not recorded anyway.

Hi Shera,

Thanks for your reply. I think it was you who looked up the marriage for me before on another thread, indicating it was St Martin's Worcester on that date. Is that different from St Martin's Birmingham? I find I'm getting confused with the Warwickshire/Worcestershire thing around Birmingham back then.

yes that would be a totally different church. if you google st. martins birmingham and st. martins worcester you will see the pictures of both churches.
