Trying to do a mini biography for Ernie Hodgkinson who died 1976 about aged 85
He lived at 84 Anglesey St Lozells. As a young man he had been a member of a cycling club known as Anglesey Wheelers.
He served in France in 1914-18 war He talked of motor cycle riding and had a certicate for signalling.
He worked locally for Lucas
His wife was Leah who died 1966 aged 76
I can find a marriage to a Lily Eyre in 1912. Do lilys call themselves Leah?
They didn't have children.
I have looked things up on FreeBMD.
Would someone kindly look them up on 21 and 39 census. Would there be military records.
Much thanks in anticipation of your help.

I think that's them,

Was Ernest married (1910) previously? To a Minnie Webb (died 1911).

Lily's are not usually known as Leah.

The John Grace with them in 1939 is their nephew, the son of Ernest's sister (also called) Leah. He was born a number of years before his parents married.

Surname also listed as Hodgkisson and his 2 brothers appear to be always be listed as such.

He is listed at 82 Angkesey Street on the Absent Voters List.
It tells us the following (I will post the entry when I put my laptop on).
Service no. 11562
Rank - private
Unit Pioneers 9 N Staffs

That might lead to medal cards etc

Marriage to Leah Hodgetts appears correct. Leah's parents are listed at 82 Anglesey St on the ERs where Ernest & Leah are listed until at least 1962.
