hinton walter family

Astonian

gone but not forgotten
I am trying to trace afamily of walter hinton,
whom was a police officier and he was born around the 1800,s
and he was a police officer in the early 1900,s
i believe he was born around or lived in high park rd smethick worc
any info , would be gratefully recieved astonian,

I know of a Charles Frank Hinton (1859-1936) son of another Charles, a copper engraver, but it seems to have been a Handsworth famly. So probably no connection. (Is it a fairly common name?)

Chris

walter hinton

hi chris m ,
thanks for your quick response on the subject
but i don,t think this is the chap i am looking for
the person , i know was an police officier by proffession
and they was living in what was called high park rd smethick
worc , he was born in the late 1800,s to the early 1900,s
and i don,t know where he was stationed ,because the police
stations was far and between in them days
i do know he had a child called victoria
and they definately lived on what was called in those days
high park road ,it could have been classed as kings norton
in those days , but even k, norton was classed as worcester
in those days i don,t know of any other family member
whether it be is father nor brother ,
but he was most certainly a police officer
what rank he held i do not know
thanks again chris best wishes astonian

Re: walter hinton family

On the 1901 census return there is a William Hinton b. 1894 living in Broad Street, Smethwick, which is in the same area as High Park Road. During 1901, Smethwick, whilst in the registration district of Kings Norton, was in the county of Staffordshire. The ecclesiastical district of Broad Street was St Michael and All Saints; exactly the same as High Park Road. Only reason I know this is because my family, James Smith etc, lived in High Park Road on the 1901 census return. If this is your William Hinton, then there is some interesting information about this family on the 1901 census return.

Re: walter hinton family

Hi Astonian

DiPoppett has put the details of the 1901 census on for you. If your Walter Hinton is the one at the first address then your great grandmother came from America so that should give you some really interesting research to be getting on with! Good luck.:)
