Bertha Hinton

Hi Sheronb
Many Thanks For Your Latest Report On Bertha I Will Be Keeping These Details For Future References And Of Family Members ,
What I Am Doing Is Regarding The Mother Of Bertha Is Because I Don.t Know Whom She Is I Was Only Given The Fathers Name As William ,not Walter, On The Birth Cert;
Have Been Given Some Date Of A Period Of The Marriage In The Quarter Of March The Year 1916 In Aston With The Ref;
Volume 6d Page975 Regarding A Marriage Between Ernest Jelf And Bertha Hinton And I Am Praying This Will Give Me Such Info; Regarding The Info; As To Whom Was Her Mother
I Believe I Will Travell To B,ham Reg Office For This Document
Which Will Be In The Middle Of Next Week The Father Was William Hinton May Be He Was,t Married Could It Been Elisbeth Danks ?
Ann Hinton Must Have Been His Mother What Do You Think ?
It Strange Theres No Mothers Name Hope This Marrige Lines
Tells Me Somthinki
Mom Said At The Time She Thought It Was A Special Licence They Got When Her Parents Got Wed Would There Still Would Have Had Witnesses As Soon I Can Pick Up On It I Will Contact You
Okay Carol Speak To You Soon Astonian ,;;;;

whoops ,just read your post, Berthas marriage cert, won't give her mothers name, only her father, unless you are lucky, and the mother is one of the witnesses, even then, it wont say mother, only her birth cert, will say who the mother is.

Bertha Hinton

Sheronb
I Am Hoping Agaist All Odds That The Marrige Lines Do Not Tell Me Them.my Only Hope Is That She May Have Been A Wittness To The Marriage The Birth Certi; Definately Did,nt State Her Mothers Name
Is That The Usal Practice Then ? Because Now It As Become A Puzzle To Me
Thanks Carol For Informing Me Of This
Astonian ,/////

I have never hear of a birth cert, not saying who the mother was!! That is a mystery!!! Maybe someone else had heard of that?? It is the full birth cert, you have, i presume??

If it was the full cert, and not the short version, i would equerry this, if you got it from Birminghm, give them a ring and ask.

Hi Astonian.

If as you say, the birth certificate for Bertha does not show her mothers name, then perhaps Bertha was a foundling. We have all seen birth certificates without a fathers name, but I for one have never seen a birth certificate without a mothers name.

Who was shown as registering the birth?

barrie

bertha hinton

hi barrie and sheronb
i am just replying to my silly mistake and to say you are both right in what you say regarding the mothers name on these certif;
first of all yes i just been looking at some of the birth certif; i have collected
and they do have there mothers name on them
secondly i was loking at the death certif; on her death certif;
it only gives her married name , and her husbands name
and not her mothers maiden name
and the date she died which was the 7TH august1953 at their home annd bussiness address WHICH WAS NO 1 NEW CANNAL ST DIGBETH WHICH WAS A TRANSPORT COFFEE SHOP WITH BOARDING TWENTY PEOPLE
IT USED TO BACK INTO TYPHOO TEA.S YARD AS WELL
BUT I CANNOT FIND OUT WHOM WAS HER MOTHER WAS
SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION GUYS BEST WISHES ASTONIAN ,;;;

Bertha Hinton

Astonian, if you lok on the main site under "streets of Aston" Potters Hill, you will find mention of a Walter Hinton and a contract he signed in partnership with another man to purchase a business there in 1906.
