proper brummie kid
hi all
I'm looking for the family Hicks. My great grandma was Phoebe Hicks b. in 1868 in Newinvention Staffordshire she moved to Australia and died in 1954. I know her father was Enoch born abt 1841 he was married to Ann Tarbuck.

im not sure what info you want. there are censuses with enoch on, and there are a few people with the same tree on ancestry who have researched his ancestors. there are pictures of phebe and others on one family tree (this may be your own).

im interested in if possible, 20th century census details. Enoch died in 1916 - where was he in 1911?, also his children Mary Enoch and Sarah where were they living, after phoebe moved to aust.
thanks Den

hi den
please excuse me for asking you personal question are you related to the hicks family whom was living in
ladywood birminhgam many years ago does beryl or joan ring any bells with you and the person named joan
or even malcom ;
all the best with your research. Astonian ;;;

Hi astonian
i'm not sure. i'm still finding out stuff on my uk side. the hicks side of my family tree is still in the very early research stage. my great grandma phoebe hicks married william egginton from birmingham and from what shera has just given me, phoebe's siser sarah married william's brother, joseph.
when phoebe moved to aust. in 1927 she left behind her brother, enoch hicks; who as you can see from shera note they had 7 children, the beryl and joan you refer to may very well be related to that enoch hicks.
regards Den

hi den ;
first of all i wish you the best in your research;
and do not be surprized they are related as i was friends and still are with th hicks family and known most of them from child hood days especialy john whom a died but when we was kids he often an enoch as some part of his family tree way back in the fiftys so if i can recall i think harry was his father [ that being my friend ]
and joan was is wife so that there is possible a harry could be related to him in your tree,
so these kids would be sort of cousins to you
i look forewarded to seeing you progress with this one i believe harry died somee time late fort early fiftys
it so happends that thee is a young chap engagd to my wifes sister daughte whom is an of spring
to one of the family of joan there mother. her son malcom ;whom i know as a child this young lad is is son
and i knew there grand mother very well ;right up until she died in he seventys
stick what sherea as told you but i bett my last quid you are tied to the same tree and they will be your cousins
best wishes Astonian ;;;
