I am researching Robert William Hewson (occasionally also recorded as William robert Hewson) who died in Birmingham Workhouse in 1913.Until his marriage to Catherine Lane he lived (1871 census refers) with his sister,
Elizabeth Green Hewson at 222 Gt. Russell Street, St. George, Birmingham.
The 1891 census has him living at Frankfort Street.They had,amongst other children, a daughter Catherine who married William Stone in 1910.
If anyone has any clues or information to help discover his parents names I woud be most grateful.
 
The 1871 census shows the head of the house as Sarah Hewson age 57
and the others Elizabeth Farmer age 27 as married daughter and William as 24 son.

I have been unable to find marriage of either Robert William or William robert to Catherine Lane can you verify when this took place.The marriage certificate will give you His fathers name.
 
Many thanks for your e-mail and your kind effort. I have the 1871 census and by chance made contact with a second cousin I never knew existed via the Ancestry website last night. Neither of us have managed to track down a marriage certificate for William Robert Hewson and Catherine (Kate) Lane and wonder if one ever occurred. William who also used his middle name ended up in Birmingham Workhouse, dying there in 1913.His sister, Elizabeth Green Hewson married and took the name Farmer and I was hoping this may resonate with some members with connections to the St.George area and Gt.Russell St, Frankfort St, Northampton St.
