Arthur was married to Dorothy Gauntlett. He was a soldier and I need to know if he was invalided out of the Army or what happened to him, it is told that his wife left him and took their 1 year old son in 1920 and sailed to Canada, where she started a new life, and thus a branch of our family is still there, The story was that Arthur committed suicide after she left him, but I can find no entry for his death. Can anyone tell me where I can look for this information.

Many thanks - Anni

Re: Arthur Hevingham b c1892

British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 about Arthur Hevingham (see attached)
Name: Arthur Hevingham
Regiment or Corps: Royal Field Artillery, Royal Garrison Artillery, Royal Field Artillery
Regimental Number: 11883, SR/3762, 11883
I can't see any service records but not many survived

From FreeBMD:

Marriages Sep 1918
Gauntlett Dorothy Hevingham Aston 6d 1117
Hevingham Arthur Gauntlett Aston 6d 1117

I can't see an obvious Birth or death but Manchester 1938 may be worth looking at.

There is a Hevingham village in Norfolk https://www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/places/h/hevingham/ from which the family at some point may have originated
