HERBERT Family

rowan

Born a Brummie
I know the Herbert family were living off Bristol Street when their last child was born in 1910. Would someone kindly please look up the 1911 cesus for me?

I would love to know who and how many of their family lived there.

The head of household should be Horace Herbert his wife Alice J. and there will be a Thomas aged about 9yrs and several other children as he was one of 13!!!

Many thanks.

Re: The HERBERT Family

Thank you terryb18, it is very kind of you to take the time to answer me.

Does it say how long they (Horace and Alice) have been married and if any children died?

Alice's second name was Jemima.

Re: The HERBERT Family

Hi,they had been married for 20 years.13 children had been born,8 still living and 5 had died. The home consisted of 4 rooms not counting scullery etc.

Re: The HERBERT Family

As you will see from the census there are 5 children that have died. If by any chance you come across a Emily Amelia Herbert daughter of William, that would be my grandmother.

Re: The HERBERT Family

Thank you both for your help, I am really grateful...........now to try and locate the little ones that died

terryb18: I dont think that an Emily Amelia is among the names as was the last child and there wasn't a William in the family at least not that generation.........I beleive there was one way back ;)

Re: The HERBERT Family

Thank you for that Shera. I now know they moved to Birmingham between 1903 and 1911.

I wonder if they moved into Bow Street when they came from London also if there are records of Horace working at the Law Courts as a law clerk?

I know that they all settled and died in Birmingham.
