Sorry me again: I have looked and looked and searched for the marriages of my Uncles Arthur, Eric and Harold Hemmings Arthur born 1917 Eric 1920 and Harold 1916 all born and raised in Birmingham around the Nechells area, anyone any ideas without me comming to Brum to look up? Father and mother of these boys were Raymond Hemmings and Fanny Gough.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Hi Lindz

My tree records show that ...

Harold married Marjorie Pullinger in 1941
Arthur married Jessie Poultney in 1944
Eric married Iris Cronan in 1950

Thanks Procat i have wondered why i couldn't find anything of this era on FreeBMD i will await with patience. I am already a fully paid up member of Ancestry but can not find them on there either. I will relook. Thanks for your reply.
Best regards

Hi Lindz,

You need to key in just the surname and then a year. This will then produce all the pages containing that surname for the year. Open each page and then look through it.

I don't put in the first name as sometimes a person is added by hand at the bottom of the page. They then become the last name on the page rather then the real last person. Sorry, convoluted. Eg, if John Smith is the last person typed on the page and then Alfred Smith is added by hand Alfred becomes the last person instead of John.

This can also disrupt the surnames so if a page is not reported for your name in a qtr you may need to search around your surname to get it to appear. Eg if Johnson was your name and does not get a result try searching for Johns etc.
