Engine Turning is the name of methods of decorating watch cases, you can try DIY fake engine turning by putting a piece of metal on to the table of a pillar drill press, put a piece of wood dowel in the chuck put some carborundum lapping paste on the metal bring the dowel on to it with the drill running and you will get circular patterns the diameter will on the size of dowel you use, you can do also by fixing a piece of emery cloth to the bottom of dowel.
