I have once more got out all records of my husbands family and they are making me tear my hair out:D
I have all certificates to back up the records but still some mysteries.

Francis (Frank ) Taylor married Frances(Fanny)Becket in 1860, St Phillips Birmingham both born 1839 Frank in Birmingham , Fanny in Walsall.
1861 census has Fanny with her family, it is known that frank went to USA as a wiredrawer. in 1862 but returnes before 1871.
1871 census has them both in Plumstead and in 1876 they had a son Frank.

It is then believed that Frank returned to USA around 1879, when the second son Joseph was born in New Canal Street.
He is on the Cambria pennsyvania census 1880 living on 'Railway Line' in johnstown, he is wire drawer.

No sign of family on the 1881 census so it is supposed that they left after Joes birth to join Frank in USA,

In 1891 Entry in Great Charles Street for
John Hughes age 39
Fanny b Hughes age 50 wife b Walsall
Frank Taylor age 14 b Woolwich
Joe Taylor age 11b aston

Fanny died as Fanny Taylor in 1899.

In 1889 there was an enormous flood in Johnstown Cambrai when a dam burst and the railroad was destroyed.

The mystery is that although I find no evidence of Fanny or sons going to USA ,throughout their lives they insisted they were born there Frank in Johnstown and Joe in New york.
I always thought that they were infants when they were in USA and that is where it came from.

I have checked passages but only found Frank snr going there in 1862,

Any information would be a bonus, Thanks for reading this saga:)

On GRO there are the following births:

TAYLOR FRANK GRO Ref 1876 D quarter West Hm Union Vol 04A Page 102 mmn BECKETT

TAYLOR JOSEPH GRO Ref 1879 D quarter Birmingham Vol 06D Page 103 mmn BECKETT

William.

I have all their birth certificates , married, death etc.
I believe that Frank Taylor snr may have perished in the flood but in the records there are many deaths without a name
My main objective it to try to find out the wherabouts of Fanny and the boys 1879-1890 and to check if Frank snr went to USA twice.
