Help finding burial records.

Have you seen them all on the 1911 and 1921 censuses? There are some variations in the spelling of Iommi.

I do have the 1911 census, yes still to this day people spell the name wrong.
on Giuseppes death record they have spelt it yommi..

but I know sometimes its Tommi, Lommi and yommi even jommi

if the 1921 census is Giuseppe, Maria, Albert and M cevita yes

what variations do you see?

It might be worth mentioning that I found out yesterday on Giuseppes death certificate that he died of general paralysis of the insane, so he may of been in a mental hospital, and when I asked AI it said something about maybe a different burial for people in asylums?

Hi Suzanneiom, just checking that you have seen the extensive medical records for Maria Yommi (married Roman Catholic dressmaker) of 17 Duddeston Row, in the recently published records of All Saints (mental) Hospital on Ancestry. She was treated there 1912-1913 and then transferred to Rubery Hill Asylum.

Those are the main ones, Albert was listed as Yoimmi on his baptism but they may just be a transcription error.

You have to remember that they possibly didn't know how to read or write and so may not have been aware of how things were being written. Add to that their probable accents and you can see how variations can occur.

There is a death reg. in Bromsgrove 1919 for a Maria Yommi aged 33 and I wasn't sure if it was relevant and Giuseepe re-married.

oh blimey ok that's a real error isn't it... so perhaps the spelling is why no one can find them, its worth a thought..

I haven't seen the medical records, im shocked..... three sets of them lived on duddeston row, they were 22, 24 and 25 but considering the name, they must have moved. This would be Maria Guiseppes wife?

not sure about the Maria in Bromsgrove ..

does it go into any more detail about Maria the one who was treated

Giuseppe re married?? I wondered why Maria didn't register his death.... do you know who he re married and when..

I don't know if the Maria that died in Bromsgrove district was your Giuseppe's wife. Just noticed that on the 1911 census there is another Giuseppe, listed as Yommi and his wife was also called Maria, so more likely it was her.

The Maria and the Giuseppe listed as yommi is my great grandad and grandmother. I have his death certificate and it says yommi
Ive ordred Marias death certificate so ill find out

I searched the newspapers and whilst there are a few articles, I couldn't see any death notifications sadly.

If that's from someone personal tree then its wrong, there is an Alfred felice iommi but its most likely felices son as they lived together at 81 high street. I can't see it from the link

Ive just gone on to all the free websites again and searched different variations and then just the first name and year of death but nothing.

Another name variation - the Albertus is because the names would be Latinised where possible

St Michael's doesn't have a graveyard as far as I know.
I have emailed a Catholic Church in Olton (records not online) which has a graveyard. I know Birmingham residents were buried there as I suddenly remembered my Great Aunt who lived in Ladywood was buried there
I thought it worth a try. Not sure who monitors the emails so we might have a wait.

Fox street is still there in bimingham, am i right in thinking that curzon street is right near by.

But what is duddeston row. I’d like to go up to town and go on the exact road (I know non of the houses are there now. But what is there?

This map if rom 1902. As you can see Duddeston Row was a continuation of Curzon St and Fox St ran off it. Possibly became part of Albert St, though the alignment changed...
