Hello to everyone.

I am researching my Malpass ancestors and their descendants.

My Malpass's hail from Eccleshall, Staffordshire from the 1700's but are now spread far and wide.

I am researching one of my grandfather's brothers Arthur Malpass who was a butcher on Coventry Road, Small Heath, Birmingham up until his death in 1929.

After Arthur's death his son Frederick Arthur James Malpass appears to have run the Butchers shop.

They are buried in the same grave at Yardley Cemetery, Birmingham.

Is their a kind soul who visits this cemetery who may be able to photograph the grave for me.
I have a map with grave location.

If of course anyone knows of a Butchers shop that used to be at 293 Coventry Road i'd be interested to hear from you.

Regards

Hi Malpass,

Weather permitting, I shall be going on the 13th., as it's the anniversary of my dad's death, and I usually go then. If you let me know the detaiils, I'll do that for you. Can you scan the map with the location?

Hi Dean,
I've been to Yardley Cemetery today.

The Memorial reads. In loving memory of Arthur. Beloved Husband of Charlotte Malpass Who died Feb. 9th. 1929. Aged 45 Years.
'We cannot Lord thy purpose see. But all is well that's done by thee.'
Also Charlotte Amelia. Wife of the above. Who died Dec 12th. 1930. Aged 43 Years. Reunited
Also Edna May Malpass. Who died 18th. April 1959. Aged 46 Years.

Considering the number of stones that were over or smashed to pieces, I was very surprised to find it standing.

I will be forever in your debt and I cannot thank you enough for your help.

Behind the scenes I have been researching the family and I now know that Edna May is the daughter in law of Arthur and Charlotte.

Edna May married Frederick Arthur James Malpass and I notice he has not been included on the headstone which is a shame for me.

I have found that Frederick and Edna had 2 daughters and I am now trying to trace these. I have their names and will try to locate them asap.

Any suggestions on locating them would be appreciated too.

Thanks Ann and if I can ever be of assistance to you please please let me know.

You are very welcome Dean.
As regards to tracing people now. You could put your tree on Genes Reunited. Or you could subscribe to 192.com. Perhaps someone else will have another idea.

And thanks Maggie.

I joined tracesmart and today located where a daughter of Frederick lived.
I phone the occupants and his daughter lives around the corner.

Hopefully the daughter will now contact me.

I love family research

Dean,

That is so quick, and incredible that she lives round the corner. I do hope she contacts you.
From doing my sister in law's tree, I reunited her and her sister with a cousin they had lost touch with. They were so pleased.

Hi an update

I have to say thanks again to Ann for the Cemetery lookup and the photos of the grave as combined with other information I had I have now been able to trace and speak to the descendant of Arthur and Frederick Malpass.

I received a phone call today and it went very well and now it is possible for us to exchange information about our families.

Thanks to this Forum for allowing me to post my information and request.
