Heeks info

Hi Phil & welcome :)

Do you have a bit more "Heeks" information to add to your posting?
Really need a "timeframe" & area ,B,ham/Suburbs covered Warks,
Worcs, Staffs,, a few names G,parents, dates etc then folks on here will
check through censii 1841-1901 if this helps your Quest,
Best regards, John Y

Hi John :)

I'm sorry but I dont at the moment as Ive only recently started reaesrching this line in Birmingham - I have the Heeks family covered on most of the census's in WOR but do know from a cousin of mine that one of them moved to Birmingham & had a family - I have no dates to go on though |& will have to ask her to share her research with me.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply to such a vague message but I just wondered initially if anyone else out there was researching my namesakes

All the very best

Phil

Yo Phil :) There are flippin loads of your Heeks on 1901 B,ham:rolleyes:

Couple of "interest" sprang out straight away,

Ernest G Heeks age 20 born Little Comberton, Lodger on
Inkerman Street (Aston cum Nechells/St Clements are)
ref 1901 RG13 piece 2868 Folio 69 page 27

2nd, Joseph Heeks age 39 born Pershore, Worcs a Brother staying
with an Alan Heeks & Wife + children
RG13/2873/F91/pg40
These above may or maynot be/ but its a starter for 10, Ok,
Plenty of aspirations when you,re ready, there are loads of "em" :)
Best regards, John Y

Hi John

yes that lot all belong to me but the trouble is trying to pin them down at Birmingham Central library as I ned to know virtually what parish any of my lot had kids in & as you know Brum is a vast place to try & search - I shall have to get some more info of my cousin to at least give me a fighting chance - The Heeks she is descended from was christened Moses Alfred (poor sod) & she has traced him to Birmingham but he had droped the Moses (cant say I blame him) part of his name & was married to a Matilda Jane - sorry but thats all I know at the moment.

Just to thor a spanner in the works I'm also researching the name Maiden & I know some of them went to Birmingham - Kellys 1933 Edwin shoeing smith is definately one of my lot.

Sorry to waffle on so much

All the very best

Phil

Phil, I don't know if its any help but about 17 years ago I worked for credit control at an oil depot in Oldbury and I remember a haulage firm named Maidens I think they were in Telford.

Hi Wendy :)

I dont have a clue if they are any relation to me but thank you very much for taking the trouble to reply about it as you never know where your ancestors are going to crop up do you

Hi Phil

My great, great grandfather was Robert Heekes (1812-1875) a carpenter from Worcestershire. He married Ann Reed at Leamington Priors in 1834. They had two children Alice, who died before adulthood and my great grandfather, Robert Bennet Heekes (1851-1892). Robert Bennett Heekes married Caroline Jenkinson in Hoxton, London in 1868. Are they connected with any of your Heekes?

Best wishes,

Ruth
