Heath/Hopkins

master brummie
I have a marriage to John Biddulph in 1838 at St Phillips, Birmingham. I have the spouse down as Mary Ann Hopkins, but I think it should be Mary Ann Heath. If anyone is going to St Phillips, is it possible they could check this out to see which is the correct one. I would be grateful. thanks Carol

27 Aug 1838 at St Philips
Mary Ann Heath
groom's father's name:John Biddulph
bride's father's name:James Heath

Ladylinda, thanks for that. I was obviously given wrong info from another relative of mine saying it was Mary Ann Hopkins. I certainly couldnt find her marriage to John Biddulph. Carol

Ladylinda, there are 2 different dates for the marriage one in August and the other September?? Any idea why this would be. Thanks Carol

The sept is from the GRO ref and from when the marriage was registered in the july, august september quarter.

Hi, Im new here so I hope im doing this right.
Mary Ann Heath was the daughter of my ancestors James and Caroline Heath. Their children Mary Ann, Samual James, John, Elizabeth and James Brother Abraham lived together on 1851 cenus they also had Emma Heath born 1860.
I am on John Heaths line
John went on to have 12 children, I have all these records if they are of any help.
What relation was Mary Ann Heath to you? A GT Grandmother?

Hi there, it looks like Mary's husband John Biddulph would have been my gt gt grandfather's (Michael) brother. Does this help?

And Mary Ann is the sister of my gt gt gt grandfather.
I dont have many exact dates for them as yet as this info has came from census reports. If you have any of her details id be grateful.
I am still working on my direct line but hope to add further details of siblings, cousins etc.
My gt grandmother died when my grandad was very young so this has been a very hard search for me. His step mother destroyed any memory of her and only in recent weeks have I found this info and been in contact with living Heaths, first cousins of my grandfather and seen photos etc.

Someone helping me with my search also pulled up Hopkins and Biddulph, im going to have to go through all my past info and see what these links were as my memory isnt very good and il come back with what was found.

A lot of the Biddulphs were deaf and dumb. Michael certainly was and along with another of the brothers Henry were put into an asylum as their mother was widowed and couldnt cope with her children. She did eventually marry again so she did get her children back out. I do believe John was also deaf and dumb.
