Re: Janet harrington

There are one or two it could be - but not in Birmingham. Are you confident she did not move away?

Janet Harrington b. reg 2nd quarter 1945 Birmingham vol 6d page 238 seems to be the birth.

Re: Janet harrington

thanks Lloyd...yes this is the birth. and this is all we have to go on..what happended to janet after that is a mystery...i wonder could you give me the two possible deaths or marriages please..although again they may prove fruitless as apparently janet was not adopted or as far as we know never held a national insurance number...shipping records are now being checked in case she was sent abroard as a young child...

thanks again...

Re: Janet harrington

Hmm, in saying "one or two" I was greatly under-exaggerating the ones I found - there are 45 possible marriages up and down the country between 1969 and 2003 for instance, although many of them have a middle initial in her name. Do you know if there was a middle name or not?
Noting her mmn was also Harrington, she could also have been adopted and her name changed - obviously I don't know the circumstances of her birth and early years but the possibility of someone being adopted and never knowing or wanting to find out her real history is also something to consider.

Re: Janet harrington

morning Lloyd.....thanks for your help with this one...and of course someone never wanting to find out their real history is a possibility...we do know that as far as social services are concerned janet was not adopted..well legally that is....and like i said there is no record of her having a NI number...so it is a real mystery....maybe when the names on the shipping lists come though it may turn up something but of course if her name was not on them it does not mean to say that she didnt go abroad..

thanks again Lloyd.

Re: Janet harrington

Hello Astoness,

May not be much help but I believe Harrington is a popular name in Ireland.
Regards, Betty.
