Many thanks Bren. I had managed to find Edith's birth but not the other 2 bits of info.

Edith is my husband's Grandmother. He only told me that he had a "Birmingham" connection at the weekend and we have been married for 28 years!!

No secret about my connection, too many brummie accents at our wedding for that!

Thanks
Helen

WOW!! Alberta, what can I say but thank you yet again!!

Every time I place a query on this site you come up trumps.

My husband is very impressed too. I keep telling him he should try using the internet more for his family history research but he has never been keen.

As a result I have far more info in the 4 years I have been looking for my lot then he has on his and he has been doing this for nearly 15.

Still, I suppose this isn't a race but a journey; to find out where we came from so we can see where we are going.

Thanks again
Helen

Edith Emma Hankinson married to Hugh Grist was my grandmother.I vaguely remember her -she died about 1943.
My father was her youngest child Kenneth David Grist born 1913 died 1983.
My mothers name was Rhoda Bayne formerly Dew and they were married in 1934.I was born in 1943.
He subsequently remarried I believe but not sure.
I am exploring John Wesley Grist son of Seth Grist and brother of Hugh.

I have sent you a private email but to add to it......I understand that Kenneth David Grist did remarry but I am not sure when. I think my husband knows. I'll ask him tonight.

Very best wishes
Helen
