Yes I just keep thinking I should have asked more questions when my parents were still with us, my uncle Ron was only twenty eight when he died , and lived opposite Witton cemetery so my first searches were there , then most of the Elliotts were christened at st James Handsworth and a lot of family came from Aston Manor , so I never thought to check Handsworth Cemetery.Further more I didn’t know he was married so now I have other searches on my family tree, will keep you posted

Does anyone have a map of section 14 showing the grave numbers? I have contacted Handsworth Cemetery and their responce was that they may reply in 14 days, could do with one sooner than that if possible.

Regards

Ron

Hi Ron, the site map doesn’t show grave numbers, just section numbers, I’m not sure if there is any in the bereavement office on Saturday that you can speak to but they are the only ones with exact location details, they are very helpful and I’m sure a photo call will get the information you need, good luck let us know how you get on

Thanks Pete, I did contact them once before about a different section and they sent me a map with grave numbers and marked the grave I was looking for, was just hoping someone else may have asked them for section 14 in anticipation of getting a look at one sooner. I will phone them on Monday if I get no joy here over the weekend.

Always seems strange to me that in a lot of areas of the country, councils post detailed maps on line, yet Birmingham and West Midlands don't, would love to know the reason for that decision.

I’m assuming it’s down to data protection in some areas as to why details aren’t readily available, good luck
