Hadley St was a short street off key Hill, shown on the 1903 map. It is now under a road and a few flat topped factories. From 1943-1969 the only listing in Kellys was the Baker metal stopper Co. In 1971-1973 no firm was listed. This doesn’t mean others weren’t there of course, but, if so would have been small . mike
now is it possible that there was a hospital on loveday street in 1943,as the person birth cert, says born in loveday street and he parent lived in hadley street, so im presuming there was an old hospital there?
my husbands business is now built on the top of Hadley street!!..I'm sure there are 2 or more pictureS of Key Hill showing NORTONS, the shop, which looking at the map was just down the road from Hadley St.on the corner. IT DOESN'T SHOW THE Street but it does show "just down the road"...hope this is of help. i do like the photos of Loveday street...but then I LIKE ALL THE PHOTOS AND MAPS THAT COME ON HERE!!!
Absolutly sure mossg, the little girl sat on the chair is my Mother-in law,she is there on the occasion of the birth of her little sister Mary born on the 21 March 1915,(I got the month wrong),and held in the arms of the nurse.
Thank you Mossg for that lovely picture of Loveday Street Hospital the best I have seen. My sister was born there in 1945 and I could remember sitting outside by some railings but all the pictures to date never had railing so I though I had made up the memory but thanks to your picture I can see were I sat.
