Hackney Carriage Driver 1908

Does anyone know where I can find details of a driver of a hackney carriage in 1908. I have the drivers badge number.

Thanks - I had a quick look and will explore later. First glance, though it looks as if it relates to London. I am looking for a H. Palmer whose name, badge number and the date April 1904 is written in a book issued by the City of Birmingham - rules and regulations for drivers of hackney carriages, buses etc.

Sue you didn't mention Birmingham:(

From Moriatys Police Law. secttion on Traffic Law. ( an old eddition )

Under the Town Police Clauses Acts 1847 and 1889 it is necessary that proprietors, the driver and conductors, and the hackney carriages and stage coaches shall be licenced by the local council.

there is more but that is the licencing part
