Hi Gwen.

Hackett is a very common name in Halesowen & Stourbrigde area bordering on Worcestershire & Black Country.

They do arf speak funny but they are great people they've got heart of faggets & peis

My partner's late mother was a Hackett from the Halesowen area ( Winnie later known as Kate ). I think she only had sisters and they lived on the outskirts of Halesowen.Dont know alot I am afraid. Winnie ( Kate ) married the son of Tom Weston , Aston Villa footballer in the early 20's. Not much known about that lot either...arkrite.

cheer's Ray and Arkrite,
most interesting, and i did laugh abt it how they speak around there.think i was looking in the wrong area then for my william Hackett, looks like they may have moved to warwickshire and decided to stay.by the way william was a boatman born abt 1790c.do you know any-thing abt boat men, just curiouse.
Gwen x
