Its Gunter's 80th Birthday this year and we plan to celebrate! But need your help - we have no photos or memorabilia as it was all destroyed in a flood. If anyone went to Gunter or taught there and has anything you think may be of interest, can you get in touch with me at jackie.harding@gunter.bham.sch.uk. If you give me your address in that email, I can send you an invitation to the Open Day.

hi jackie where about was the school...i will do a search for photos for you...

astoness

Oops - forgot that bit! We're in Pype Hayes, or Erdington, just off Chester Road inbetween the Bagot Arms and Tyburn House pubs. Thanks

ok jackie..will get back to you if i find any pics...and maybe other members may have some...

good luck

No its not! That site is no longer being used. We are currently in the process of building a new one and are waiting for the host to close this one down.

I attended Gunter Road back in the 1960's and 1970's - from nursery through to leaving for secondary school.
Can't promise anything but I will have a look to see what might be lurking in an old photo somewhere.

Thanks - that would be great. If you email me your address on the email I've given above, I will send you an invitation closer to the date.

Thanks Bill! Malcolm Said he knew it was on a site somewhere but couldn't remember which one! Have just read it - will be including it on my display - thanks for the link!

Carry on! The more info I get the better! Have had quite a few replies - even had an email off Carl Chinn saying he'll put a note in his monthly mag! You never know, I might get enough photos for a display after all!

Unfortunately, just the copy on the link - not the original. It was one of the many lost. Malcolm did the piece about the school history before the photos were lost - we have nothing! :(

:( Had a look through all the old photo's I could find - none of Gunter at all - although I know that I do have a class photo from 1970 or 1971 somewhere - it's just where is it ? :(

Hi Jackie - finally turned up a couple of Gunter Road related pictures - I've e-mailed them to you.

If there are any other ex-Gunterians ( if that is such a word ) on here - here's a class pic from 1969-1970 .
I am middle row second from the right. Sadly I can only remember around a quarter of the names.

Some years ago the site was hacked and all the images were lost. Many have been replaced. Ian is still a member, and if he sees this he may be able to repost the photo.

My closest friend was a teacher at Gunter Road in the early 70's her name was Jeannette Guy. I am sure she would love to know if anyone remembers her.

Yes she did. She is now retired. I will pass your message on to her. If you wish you can private message me with your name and the years you were there to if she remembers you.

Here is the photo for when I attended maybe from 1978 when Miss Guy was teaching. Ian may remember
