Guest Philip Henry.

lynne webb

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
I'm looking for any trace of Philip Henry Guest b. 1860 but on later Census b.1863, after 1901. He married an Elizabeth Garrison in 1896 and on the 1901 Census they are living in Gt.Russell St, with son Samuel Philip, b. abt 1900. I cant find anything at all after this for Philip or Elizabeth, I have found a marriage in 1977 and a death in 1980 in Southend on Sea for Samuel Philip but thats all.Could someone kindly look to see if I have missed something please.
Thank you,
Lynne.

Re: Guest Pkilip Henry.

Elizabeth guest is listed on the electoral roll for 1 court 48 Great Russell st in 1912. This is a little unusual as women did not have the vote then, though they could be put on the list for local elections as a property holder. After that there are so many elizabeth guests that i do not know which it might be. she does not seem to be listed with a samuel guest (though the search engine facility that finds this is not always succesful. Similarly , although there is a Phillip guest on the 1918 absent voters list at no 3/78 church lane aston, there arde no others lsited at that address then , and it seems to be the only mention of a phillip guest.

Re: Guest Pkilip Henry.

Hi Mike, the Elizabeth at 1 court, 48 Great Russell St. is my Gt Grandmother so not the one I'm looking for, you are right, there are so many Elizabeths, I thought Philip would be easier, no such luck. Thanks very much anyway.
Lynne.

Re: Guest Pkilip Henry.

Lynne, on find my past there is a death for a Philip Guest in Birmingham in 1910 - that would fit with Mikes electoral roll findings and explain why you can't see him after 1901 census. Death 1910, Apr/May/Jun qtr, 6d 21.
Thereis also a Forces record which seems to fit, Philip Guest b 1863 Birmingham, age at attestation 24y 3m, date of attestation 28-3-1887 in the East Lancashire Regt, attestation soldier no 1914, may give you some more to go on, I haven't got access to FMP, maybe someone will look at the images for you - unless you can find them on Ancestry, I have no luck on the Ancestry search even when I enter name dob, reg no years etc!!
Good luck, Sue

Re: Guest Pkilip Henry.

Thanks Sue that looks like his death, I'm on Ancestry as well and nothing coming up in the Army records.
Thanks so much for your help.
