Grogan family Chester Street

I suspect the Mayo connection is likely to be from Edward and Bridget.
Edward and Bridget with son Martin b Leamington are on 1871 census. It just says "Ireland" for their birthplace though.
Don't forget you can pay for a month on Ancestry and get a lot of info. Just remember to cancel before the month is up.

As I have my tree on ancestry as I am researching my family too I am taking an opportunity to tidy up some records starting with one branch I will probably re instate my paid membership in the winter months when I have a bit more time

Have done a bit of digging back - starting with 1921 censu which you say is correct.1921 census.jpg

also found in 1911

Note on both Martin says he was born in LEAMINGTON.
All children's births reg with mmn Dunleavy.
So that gives us the marriage in post 10 of Martin Grogan to MAry Dunleavy.

Alberta gave us Martin in 1871(in post 11) with parents Edward (matches marriage cert) and Bridget- note the parents born in Ireland.. Again Martin born in Leamington.
The 3 siblings on that census all have mmn Connolly (spelt variously as Conelly, Conoly and Connoly).
There is a catholic marriage on FMP for Edward Grogan and Bridget Connolley in 1862. Father's name
I think Bridget must then die as Edward (again Catholic marriage on FMP) marries Annie Chambers and has more children. These are on 1891 census in Biringham where Edward is a "range fitter".

SO think you have the wrong birth cert for Martin and it is more likely to be the one posted by Lyn in post 17.

NB I can't read the name of Edward's Father on the 2 marriage records

Thanks Janice that’s really kind of you to do some digging I found a copy of the 1911 census but not the 1921 it was the 1911 that threw up the Leamington connection so the confusion in getting the birth certificate for Martin I will have a look over the week at all the information and see if I can find any more information the children listed for Martin and Mary on the census’s are correct as I know this personally from my late father in law as Martin was his grandfather and we visited Martin son Edward’s grave in France I will see if I can look over the leamington connection and what brought his parents there presumably from ireland

I think the birth certificate posted the info for is your best bet.
Use GRO and, if possible, choose digital image. It is instant, cheapest and gives all the info you will need.
Keep us posted and if necessary ask for more help.
