proper brummie kid
I'm trying to find out more about my family, this is as far as I've got on this side:

Thomas Griffiths, born 1841 West Bromwich,
married Mary Woodhall in Christ Church, West Bromwich,22 Dec 1867.
Died 1880.
Acc. 1871 census Residing at Little Lane (Church Field Tavern ) West Bromwich. Occ. Boat loader.
1881 census:Residing at 30 Harvils Hawthorn (Old Crown Inn), West Bromwich, Stafford. Occ. Licensed Victualler

I think his fathers name was Thomas Griffiths and that Mary Woodhalls family owned a brewery.
Thanks for any help

Hi there, If you purchase the marriage cert for Thomas and Mary,it should give father's names and occupations, which should make a census search slightly easier. The 1851 return below is possibly Mary and family

Thank you LadyLinda. I have also found the info about the Woodhalls. As for Thomas' father, I have found out his name is Joseph but that's all. I'll try to order tge marriage certificate shortly.
