Hello, Would anyone be able to provide any support or tips? I am searching my Greatrex family and found Joseph born 13/03/1830 and baptised on 27/12/1830 at St Philip's, mother Sarah Greatrex abode New Town Row and father unknown. I can then next find Joseph marrying Mary Walker on 14/05/1854 at St Peter and St Pauls Church.

It would be nice to try to locate them during the missing period and Sarah before 1830. Is it likely they would have gone to a workhouse or similar facility if Sarah was unmarried?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for spending your time to help!
Very interesting, baptism and marriage on the same day. She was a very busy lady!
i could be wrong but i dont think they are the same sarah greatrex (its a common name)...it would be highly unusual for her to have her child joseph baptised on 30th dec 1830 at st philips and state she is a single women then pop along st marys church handsworth also on 30th dec 1830 to get married to william lees walker

we would need to do more info.. do you know when sarah was born and where? the more info you can give us the better

Thank you for your comments.
Joseph Greatrex who married Mary Walker I am sure is my ancestor. Unfortunately, I have no additional information that I can provide for his mother Sarah.
