Grass, Weeds & Rubbish

motorman-mike

Brum visitor who stayed.
Does anyone recall the intercompany rivalry amongst staff in the days before British Railways? Name calling was the norm.
The LNER was referred to as the Leaves & Never Ever Returns.
GWR men would say they worked on Gods Wonderful Railway or the Great Way Round and that the LMS was the " 'ell of a mess" and Lots More Smuts.
In return the LMS men referred to the GWR as Grass, Weeds & Rubbish. Looking at this photo they could have been right although fair to say this is present day Hall Green. Past GWR men would be spinning in their graves to think it could look like this.

There's still name calling, but now its the passengers. Virgin Trains - They don't go all the way

A neighbour of mine grows weeds someone has photo's to prove it but if he submits them to the cops they would know where they came from.

Has some one who lived in Hall Green for many years it is sad to see the state of the track. Is the train working wrong line ? Stratford Road bridge seems to be in the background.
