Grange Lane Bordesley 1841

Michael_Ingram

gone but not forgotten
Can any one help locate Grange Lane, Bordesley, (NOT Grange lane, Erdington). It was there in and around 1841, possibly near Grange Road (guessing). Many thanks

It appears after Dark Lane in the 1841 census.
By 1851 it seems to have disappeared census wise, although Dark Lane is there?

Many thanks Linda. I have located it on the census, can anyone give me help with its location in Bordesley, hopefully a map. If it next to Dark Street, where was dark street.

I think Dark Lane became Kingston Rd?
Nearby would probably have been Lawley Street,Watery Lane, Garrison Lane.
Grange Lane may have been lost when they started building the railway?

Just realised that I have refered to 1941 but it should read 1841. I've edited my post titles but can't edit the thread title.

Which Bernie Michael? I just changed the Title to 1841 and removed a couple of posts that BernieW had deleted the content from.

Don't worry Bernie, as my wife would tell you, I live in a constant state of confusion.
